The Recruitment Marketing Specialist develops and executes marketing and communications tactics in support of recruitment marketing initiatives.
This position works on content for print, web, email, social media, and digital marketing campaigns designed for prospective students (both traditional and nontraditional) and their influencers.
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Marketing, the Recruitment Marketing Specialist, serves as a member of the marketing and communications team responsible for building the reputation and recruiting academically strong and diverse community of learners.
They will partner closely with academic units as well as with the admissions teams to communicate with different audience personas.
They will understand both brand voice and audience need to develop personalized/segmented content.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with admissions and academic units in the design and implementation of marketing and communications in support of recruitment marketing plans.
Collaborates with Communications Operations Manager in Enrollment Systems Operations and Analytics (ESOA) team on production of print, text, and email communication plans.
Works closely with ESOA on analyzing communication effectiveness; develops and shares effectiveness report and adjustments with key stakeholders.
Provides support to the Manager of Web Content Strategy on specific information related to future students and families on Redlands.

Creates campaigns for admissions social media channels including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube.
Working closely with grad and undergrad admissions as well as Communications, identifies, researches, and writes student stories for dissemination through websites, social media, email, and print.
Collaborates with and helps coordinate efforts and information for external digital marketing partners and vendors for student recruitment campaigns.
Helps coordinate and execute digital integrated marketing campaigns.
Creates and executes segmented communication plans that target all phases of the admissions funnel for prospective students and for key influencers.
Reviews effectiveness of efforts on an ongoing basis with team to determine adjustments.
Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualification GuidelinesAny combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:
Experience/Training/Education:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing or Business, or related field.
Three years of experience in marketing, communications, admissions, or related experience.
Experience working in a communications role that supports recruitment, enrollment management and/or admissions activities is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent skills in creating content, copywriting, and copyediting.
Ability to write in the university brand voice in a way that is concise, engaging, and prompts action.
Understands different personas; adept at writing to their needs, motivations, and tone.
Possesses keen attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and project manage effectively.
Strategic in approach as well as tactical in execution.
Strong organizational skills; handles and prioritizes multiple and complex assignments/projects.
Effective project management, quality control, and proofreading Ability to be creative and flexible.
Ability to understand data to better inform recruitment strategy.
Ability to work independently with little direction.
Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite and other applications.
Familiarity with Slate systems.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with professionalism, sensitivity, and neutrality.
Must be able to competently interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.

Working Conditions:
Standard office and field setting.
Duties performed are in an office environment while sitting at a desk or computer workstation or in meetings.
At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
Physical Demands:
Incumbents regularly sit for long periods of time; speak clearly and distinctly to provide information; see to read fine print and operate computer; hear and understand voices over telephone and in person; use hands and fingers to operate an electronic keyboard or other office machines; walk on a regular basis; travel to various locations; finger dexterity may be required to utilize and operate the specialized tools and equipment; distinguish colors and have depth perception; reach with hands and arms; pushing, pulling and lifting; on occasion may stoop, kneel or crouch; and lift, carry and/or move objects typically weighing up to 10 pounds.
There may be exposure to inclement weather as well as to dirt/dust, chemicals/solvents, and noise with occasional exposure to temperature extremes and vibrations.

HIRING RANGE:
Anticipated hiring range is near or at the minimum of the classification, commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
The University of Redlands is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position.
Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The full salary range for this position is defined as the Full Pay Range.
The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position defined as theHiring Range.
Placement within the Hiring Range is determined by internal equity, and relevant qualifications.
BACKGROUND CHECK:
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.
The University will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.

DRIVER'S LICENSE CHECK:
Possession of a valid Driver's License is required for certain positions.
Employees in positions that require a valid Driver's License will be enrolled in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Government Employer Pull Notice Program which confirms possession of a valid driver's license and reflects driving record.
PHYSICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL EXAMS:
For certain positions typically in Public Safety, Facilities, Athletics and Information Technology Services departments, employment is contingent upon a candidate passing a pre-employment physical exam with the ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
Public Safety Officers, in addition to a pre-employment physical exam, will also be required to pass a psychological evaluation.
